Process photos of making the trousers for the Steersman.

The trousers were built using tailoring techniques: adding a fly and side pockets.

The stirrups were stitched on a domestic machine with a zigzag stitch while being stretched.

The waistband was built with the use of a waistband curtain.

Process photos of altering the sailor’s coat.

The coat was made by an outside maker out of waxed denim fabric, which made it very challenging to alter due to the thickness of the material.

The alterations were sleeve length adjustments and hem adjustments.
