Grigorii Malakhov (He/Him/His)

is an MFA Student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has recently graduated with his Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Arts with a minor in Music from the University of Oregon.

Grigorii speaks several languages: English, Italian, and Russian.

Grigorii focuses on costume technology and design. He was a costume shop apprentice at the Santa Fe Opera (‘23 and ‘24), where he worked on the 2023 and 2024 seasons. You can find more information about the show builds in his portfolio.

His recent stitching credits include “Don Giovanni”, where he built a tailored police jacket. In the Fall, he will be a design assistant for the “Oklahoma!” production at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
